Lamb’s Bread: frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions people search most about Lamb’s Bread, each with its sources.

Is Lamb’s Bread indica or sativa?

A sativa by label: Leafly files it as a sativa, AllBud gives 95% sativa, Weedmaps a sativa-dominant hybrid. One genetic study found a sample sold under the name nearly identical to an Afghan indica.1,2,3,4

What strain is Lamb’s Bread?

A Jamaican sativa of unknown parentage and unknown breeder, also sold as Lamb’s Breath; Leafly lists a Jamaican landrace as its only parent.1,5

Is Lamb’s Breath the same as Lamb’s Bread?

The databases and our lab matching treat them as one strain under different spellings; breeder James Riddle argues they may once have been different plants.1,3,6

Why is it called Lamb’s Bread?

Nobody knows. A smuggler’s memoir, quoted by Riddle, says Jamaican farmers named it after Steve Lamb because the buds were “as large as loaves of bread”; a seed-company feature says Bread is a Patois rendering of Breath; Yardie Seeds says “no one really knows”.6,7,8

Was Lamb’s Bread Bob Marley’s favorite strain?

It is said to be, by everyone, and documented by no one. Leafly says “believed” and “rumored”, Weedmaps “thought”; sellers state it as fact without a source, and we found no quotation from Marley naming any strain.1,2,3,9

How much THC is in Lamb’s Bread?

The median is 22.74% across 117 state lab tests, with the middle half between 19.05% and 25.37%; the tests come from only two states and 76.1% of them from one lab.10 Leafly lists 18% and Weedmaps 10–15%.1,3

Does Lamb’s Bread have CBD?

Almost none: 112 of the 116 tests that reported CBD found none, and the highest result was 0.19%.10

What terpenes are in Lamb’s Bread?

Our lab data cannot say: none of the 117 tests reports individual terpene values.10 Leafly’s own page disagrees with itself, naming caryophyllene dominant in its prose and myrcene first in its panel.1

What does Lamb’s Bread taste and smell like?

Earthy, woody and spicy, with pine and a cheesy or skunky note: Leafly lists woody, earthy and spicy/herbal, Weedmaps earthy, pine and flowery, AllBud a cheese and skunk aroma.1,2,3

Does Lamb’s Bread make you sleepy?

Not by reputation: Leafly rates it mostly energizing and lists it among strains for feeling energetic; its reported downsides are dry mouth, dry eyes and anxious feelings rather than drowsiness.1,9

Is Lamb’s Bread a landrace?

Leafly says so, listing it as “a landrace from the island of Jamaica”, but the only genetic test of a sample sold under the name matched an Afghan indica, and the seed lines sold today are feminized selections or crosses; SeedFinder says the original was never sold as feminized seed.4,11,12

How long does Lamb’s Bread take to flower?

About 65 days on Leafly; 9–10 weeks for most seed versions (Zamnesia, Blimburn; Weedmaps says the same), 8–10 weeks for Crop King’s feminized line, 7–9 weeks seed to harvest for its autoflower, and 70–84 days for Lamb’s Breath Seeds’ Irie Select.1,3,13,14,15,16,17

Where can I buy Lamb’s Bread?

Only from licensed stores where cannabis is legal for you, and few list it. On Oct 3, 2026, Weedmaps showed Lamb’s Breath flower at 23 store listings in 7 of 27 US markets, 8 of them within 50 miles of Boston.18

What is Blueberry Lambsbread?

A different strain: Leafly lists it as a Blueberry × Jamaican Lamb’s Bread hybrid with 9% THC and berry flavors.19
