Growing Lamb’s Bread: flowering time, yield and breeder specs
Flowering times quoted for Lamb’s Bread run from 7–9 weeks (Crop King’s autoflower) and about 65 days (Leafly) through 9–10 weeks (Zamnesia, Blimburn, Weedmaps) to 10–12 weeks for Lamb’s Breath Seeds’ Irie Select, a sixth-generation selection from Jamaican seed. Sellers describe a tall, vigorous, narrow-leaved sativa that wants a warm, dry climate.1,2,3,4,5,6

What the plant is like
Expect a tall, vigorous sativa. Lamb’s Breath Seeds describes red stems, narrow leaves and an open structure; Weedmaps “robust, symmetrical branching” with “generous internodal spacing” and, outdoors, tall plants with thin sun leaves; Leafly light-green buds that “resemble balls of sheep’s wool”; Zamnesia light green buds with deep orange pistils.2,3,5,6
James Riddle’s 2024 outdoor report is the only dated grow record we found: 18 plants, 17 of them female, transplanted in early May into irrigated, mulched beds; a few seedlings lost to cutworms, then no pest or disease problems; the male chosen as pollen donor for its size, odor, red stems and “strong sativa traits”.7
What to watch for
Climate and time. Leafly says the strain “requires a dry outdoor climate”, Crop King wants “sunny, warm, Mediterranean or tropical-like” conditions, and Weedmaps recommends warmer climates for outdoor plants that finish in mid-to-late October.2,5,8 Lines closer to the Jamaican original take longer: Lamb’s Breath Seeds quotes 10–12 weeks and warns that “as a landrace strain, plants will express some genetic variation”, Crop King says authentic landrace varieties require significantly longer flowering than its autoflower, and Legendary Hybrids says its clone was hybridized “to reduce the flowering times”.1,6,11 Leafly adds that one phenotype in four grows indica-like.2
Seeds and the law in the US
Under the amended federal definition of hemp, viable seeds from cannabis plants above 0.3% total THC, including THCA, are not hemp.12 Congress delayed that exclusion, with most of the new definition, from Nov 12 to Dec 11, 2026; only the exclusion of products with cannabinoids the plant cannot produce naturally starts on Nov 12.13 Home cultivation rules are set by each state.
